post Learning New Ways to Stay Healthy

I am going to try to live as long as possible, but I know that I need to make some changes in my life. I really started to think about the subject, after recently having my 50th birthday. I am not sure why I am stuck on the subject, but I would like to extend the years that I have on this earth by as much as I possibly can. So I am going to try to learn some ways to stay healthy and to apply what I learn to my own life.

I think that I can really live to be 90 or more, if I take the right steps. At the age of 90 though, the biggest worry would be the degeneration of my mental capacity. I am not sure that life is really worth living, after your cognition is degraded significantly. At some point, it seems like you are no longer the person that you used to be. But if you are a Buddhist, then you believe that nobody is the same person that they used to be. Everything is in flux, and that our attachment to concrete notions of identity, or the self, are the root cause of human suffering. I tend to believe such things to an extent, but it is hard to practice them, because it seems so fundamentally human to think of your identity as a concrete entity.

Anyway, I kind of got off on a tangent there. I am going to try to figure out how I am going to improve my life, and one of the things that I need to do, is to learn how to eat more healthy. It is hard for me to do that though, because I am worried that I will miss the foods I used to eat.
