Does Healthy Eating Cost You More?

Quick-Links:  Every Other Day Diet

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

One of the biggest myths out there is the myth that eating healthy costs too much.

Just the opposite… and I’ll prove it to you in three ways.

#1:  Cash

Here’s some sample figures courtesy of Scott Tousignant’s fitness blog…

:  2 medium size sweet potatoes $1 or… small fries from a fast food joint

:  2 red peppers $1 or… a can of pop

:  Bowl of oatmeal with fruit & protein powder $2 or… large bag of chips

:  6 Chicken Breasts $10 or… a sub combo from a fast food joint

:  18 eggs $3.50 or… a burger from a fast food joint

:  2 salmon fillets $15 or… large pizza

:  Loaded chicken salad (homemade) $3 or… bag of cookies

:  Large bag of oatmeal $3.50 or… 4 chocolate bars

Not much of a comparison, it is?

Yet the foods on the left would feed a family of two or more for 4-7 days… the foods on the right? 2-3 days if you live through it.

Tips to make the most expensive part of eating healthy — the cost of quality meats — go further include…

  1. Use tofu fillers in chicken and beef recipes. Even if you hate tofu, you can barely taste the difference when combined properly.
  2. Buy your meats in bulk online. You can find less expensive grass-fed beef and naturally-raised chicken and have it delivered to you if you live near a large city. If not, check the local farmers.
  3. Eat meat only 3-4 times per week and use black beans with rice or inexpensive tuna for your other days. I eat tuna cooked in a skillet with lots of veggies and some olive oil almost every night and I LOVE the taste!

Jon Benson’s book The Every Other Day Diet plan (EveryOtherDayDiet.com) has over 40 pages of recipes in it to help you eat healthy and cheap… and you can still eat out and consume your favorite foods several times per week.

#2:  Your Health

Do we ‘really’ need to talk about buy new (usually larger) clothes every year or two? Or about the health care costs associated with being even 20 pounds over your ideal weight, let alone more? How about the time you miss from work with excessive colds?

Eating healthy and taking care of your body adds years to your life… and for the record, the years eating poorly takes away from your life, on average, costs each American over 80,000 in medical expenses.

Want to add that to your food budget?

#3: The Big Picture

Anyone who has been fit knows the joy it brings… the freedom you feel from wearing whatever you want… the productivity you see from increased energy… the pace at which you move during the day.

Not only are these gifts priceless, but they are also massive cash-savers. Your productivity alone can add thousands to your bottom line each year, well off-setting any costs associated with eating quality food.

The Bottom Line…

Like any good accountant would suggest, you need to look at your ROI (return on investment) if nothing else.

What does investing in a better body, greater health, and vibrant energy do for your life? How can that actually translate into more in.come AND less expense?

You will be surprised.

If you want some tips on getting started with shedding that excess weight… go here for a short video… and prepare to take some notes! …

3 Reasons Why Obesity Is… A Disease?

[ Note: This article was written by fitness and nutrition author Jon Benson. I have his permission to share it with you. ]

I bet you didn’t know this …

Obesity…even being overfat… is a disease.

No, really.

At least that’s what several social groups wish you to believe. “Suffers Of Obesity” is just one of those groups. Their entire stance is obesity (which, btw, can be only 30lbs or so over your ideal bodyweight) is an actual disease.

Well, is it?

Yes… and no.

Comedian Ricky Gervais has a hilarious go at this stance… that obesity is a disease. You sometimes have to laugh, you know? ; )

“No… it’s not a disease… it’s greed. You just love to eat,” or so Gervais believes.

Well, in my first newsletter for 2010, a new decade with new ideas, I’m here to share a new idea with you:

We really need to redefine some words.

One of those words is “disease”.

Case-in-point:  Wikipedia.com defines disease…

“In human beings, “disease” is often used more broadly to refer to any condition that causes pain, dysfunction, distress, social problems, and/or death to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person. In this broader sense, it sometimes includes injuries, disabilities, disorders, syndromes, infections, isolated symptoms, deviant behaviors, and atypical variations of structure and function, while in other contexts and for other purposes these may be considered distinguishable categories.”

Let’s think about that.

If you bump your knee against a sharp object, is this a new disease called “bumpuskneeitis?” Er… no. It’s an accident. Sure, it may ’cause’ a specific set of symptoms that could broadly (as in as broad as the back-side of a barn) be considered a “disease”, but … no. It’s an accident with biological consequences.

Social problems?  So, if I decide to read 17 books on why my parents suck as a teenager and develop anti-social behavior, is this a “disease”?  NO!  This is the angst of youth combined, perhaps, with poor parenting!  Sure, it can lead to mental issues that could be classified as “disease”, but guess what?

It’s totally within your control. No one force-fed the books to the teen. And no one is force-feeding you, or anyone you know.

That decision is yours and yours alone… and anyone, repeat ANYONE on the face of planet earth can change their behaviors and attitudes toward food.

Okay, some more thoughts on disease:

Let me give you a few examples of what is typically thought of as “disease”…

— Leprosy
— Cancer
— Hypothyroidism

We’ll just take three… there are thousands as you know.

Now, we can all agree that these three states represent true “disease”. The first you could catch by accident; the second is a combination of genetics, environment, and who-knows-what-else, and the third is almost always genetic.

One, cancer, is something you ‘may’ be able to do something about. For example, lung cancer. 90% of lung cancer patients contract the disease from smoking.

Let’s just cover these 90%, shall we?

And folks, I’m asking for an open mind here…

Is lung cancer, in the case of the 90%, REALLY a disease?

Or is it a biological consequence?

Sure, “cancer” is a disease. But what caused it in this case? Something involuntary? Hardly. Something that could not be stopped?

No way.

The 90% caused it. Period.

Welcome to the real world.

So, I propose this:  We redefine “disease” as an abnormal biological condition that we DO NOT have direct cause or effect over.

Airborne viruses: Disease.  Obesity: NOT a disease.

And yes, lung cancer in chain smokers:  NOT a disease; it’s a biological outcome. The end result should be treated as a disease, of course, but come on: Where is the responsibility folks?

Life, if you want to life it fully and without fear, is ALL about taking total responsibility. That’s empowerment. Anything less is… well, LESS.

In our example, lung cancer is no more a “disease” than, say, me hitting myself over the head with a hammer every day and causing brain damage is a disease.

Brain damage (not self-induced) = disease.

Brain damage caused by self-inflicted hammer-hitting = biological consequence. In this case of sheer stupidity!

Now, one could (and many will) make the argument that I had a “mental” disease that caused me to WANT to hit myself over the head with a hammer… but… well…

At this point we need to redefine the word “disease” in my opinion. Here’s why:

First, if this were the case, I could say that all criminals have a disease.

They all have a mental disease that makes them want to kill, steal… you name it.

This may in fact BE true… we do not know… but do we hold them NOT responsible if it is? No, we do not.

And that brings us back to obesity.

Obesity and being overfat is not a disease folks…
—— >  it’s a biological consequence.

And, with the exception of the extremely ‘rare’ cases of total glandular dysfunction from birth, obesity… your bodyweight… is your responsibility.

Period. End of story.

Sorry, but that’s the way the ball bounces.

Am I being mean? No. I was obese. I have a right to speak my mind about it, and trust me:  My depression (a disease… sorta… some genetic, but a lot of it was caused by eating too much sugar) definitely aided in my obesity.

Then how come I’m not obese any more?

I found a better way to eat. I re-trained my body to crave this style of eating (and exercise) over stuffing myself with pizza and burgers every day.

Here’s what I use:

Click.Here———–>  My No-Disease No-Obesity Wake-up Call!

It torches bellyfat… and it reprograms the body and mind to use food as fuel… especially if you use my “7 Minute Body” workout system (you can get it at 77% off after you pick up EODD on the page above… ; )

So be brave. Be fearless. And be responsible.

Oh… and be sure not to catch “internetemailitis”… its a disease that causes you to want to check your email more than 10 times a day.

I have it. So be careful… may be contagious. : )

P.S. In my journey from obesity to total leanness I had to overcome ‘real’ diseases, like pituitary failure from a high fever (i.e. viral pneumonia that almost killed me) and, yes, clinical depression (partially my fault; partially not… i.e. half disease, half biological consequence.) So I have sympathy, believe me. But I also know what you can do once you have a solid plan in place and a determined mind.

Then no “disease” can stop you… at least the ones that do not kill you.

So go for it… be brave, be responsible… and be lean!

Obesity and Swine Flu: What Is The Relationship?

Well, it is happening:

Swine flu is beginning to really take hold.

Not just in the United States, but all over the world.

But that’s not the scary part…

… the scary part is the fact that being obese OR overweight has now been directly linked to DYING from the swine flu.

My friend Jon Benson put together a 5-minute video that documents these findings.

This is freee for you to view — and you owe it to yourself to check it out.

Your 5-Minute Fat Loss Shake

[ Note: This article was written by fitness and nutrition author Jon Benson. I have his permission to share it with you. ]

Protein shakes are a dime a dozen. However a high-quality protein drink that is both homemade and nutritious is a rare find. Most protein drinks today have traveled the path of least resistance — cheap and potentially dangerous sweeteners, sugar alcohols (in order to bring down the supposed “carb count”), and protein sources that are often dubious…and accompanied with more outrageous claims than grams of the good stuff.

I use a simple, homemade, economic and super-healthy protein drink at least five times a week during my normal nutrition cycle and several times a day during peak training cycles where I need to be in top shape. My strategy for building this drink was simple:

  1. Go hormone-free and organic with everything possible;
  2. Go with plenty of healthy fats rather than cheap sugar substitutes to help control insulin and provide more satiety;
  3. Think ‘raw’;
  4. Make it delicious!

Below you will find this recipe, complete the the exact ingredients used. It takes less than five minutes to make and keeps me full for 2-3 hours. It is less than 1/3 the cost of an out-of-the-box MRP (Meal Replacement Product) and contains 1/10th the number of ingredients — and that’s a good thing. If you cannot pronounce it, it’s probably bad for you. And it tastes fantastic!

Mix the following into a high-quality blender:

1. One heaping scoop of Jay Robb’s Egg White Protein You will need to adjust this amount to your body weight. I use up to 1.5 grams times my body weight (max) and as low as 1 gram times my body weight when doing two shakes a day. For me this is between 20 and 35 grams of powder. Jay uses the best sources available, including hormone-free cattle and Stevia, a herbal sweetener, to make his excellent protein. There are no additional carbs to speak of and only the bare essentials ingredient-wise. Jay also makes a high-quality whey. I will often combine the whey and the egg white powders, using a bit over half a scoop each.

2. One raw egg (cage-free) Do not worry about cholesterol or getting food poisoning. These claims are mostly media hype. You need the high-quality protein and fats found in the egg. Most people try to go low-fat when making a protein shake. This is a mistake, as fats are crucial to the digestion of protein. As for contamination: Roll the egg on the counter. If it wobbles, you are safe to consume it. I’ve used this technique for ten years and I’ve yet to have one case of food poisoning consuming raw eggs. Oh, and it makes the protein drink taste better (believe it or not.)

3. Five grams of L-Glutamine Powdered L-Glutamine (I use Jarrow’s brand) is one of the healthiest things you can supplement your diet with. L-Glutamine has been shown to be one of the most powerful nutrients for both recovery and immunity enhancement. Bodybuilders will take up to 25 grams per day of L-Glutamine during hard training cycles; I do as well. It makes a tremendous difference in both performance and wellness. It is tasteless, too.

4. Five grams of Creatine Monohydrate If you want more strength and muscle fullness, good old creatine monohydrate (the non-fancy stuff; just monohydrate for me) works like you would not believe. Five grams per day is all you need. Like L-Glutamine, it is tasteless. I use Jarrow Brand.

5. Raw almonds I cannot say enough good stuff about almonds. Besides tasting great, they are loaded with essential fats and healthy fiber. Here is how I measure how much to use. This comes right out of my book “The Every Other Day Diet”.

Get it here:

The Every Other Day Diet The “Cheat To Beat” Diet Plan

You can find 15 other shake recipes and over 40 pages of recipes in my book that fit the bill of being tasty and fantastic fat-burning meals. Here is the trick: Divide your body weight by 10. That’s it. If you weigh 200 pounds as I do, that means 20 almonds. Simple, right? I created an entire measuring system for Every Other Day Diet’s SNAPP! System of eating that is this simple for everything: Calories (none to count), carbohydrates, fats, protein intake… even water!

6. Frozen berries (raspberries mixed with blueberries) Yes, fresh is better than frozen… but frozen makes the shake more frothy. Plus I buy organic berries and freeze them in containers. There is practically nothing lost in the process. How much? Simple: Divide your body weight by 5! In my case this is 40 berries, or about a handful. Once you count them out once or twice you never have to again.

7. Pumpkin seeds This was a great find: A super-healthy and tasty addition to my protein recipe, plus a nice bump in the fiber content. Measuring something as fine a seeds is a bit more challenging using my numeric system, so we keep it simple: Use your palm. Just pour the seeds into your palm. Make sure they are not forming a pyramid or overflowing. That’s the ideal amount.

8. 1 to 1.5 cups of pure water I use only 1 cup of water as I like my shake thick.

9. 1 cup of ice Adjust to taste and texture preference.

10. Stevia (to taste) I love Stevia. It is an herbal sweetener that does not cause an insulin spike like sugar or even sugar alcohols can, and does not have the health hazards of artificial sweeteners. I use a few packets as I like my shake nice and sweet.

There you have it: A mostly raw, protein-rich, health-fat, carb-friendly protein drink that will fill you up for hours, tastes great, and contains more raw nutrition than most people get in a week.

P.S. There’s an eye-opening weight loss video you need to see.

Intestinal Parasites And Weight-Loss

by catya
Many individuals struggle to achieve their ideal body weight. Many people spend enormous amounts of money on gym memberships, personal trainers, and weight loss pills but achieve minimal results. More than a problem of metabolism and food intake, recent studies show that intestinal parasites can also be responsible for unwanted weight gain. These intestinal parasites enter the human body through different channels like food and water. These parasites may be one among the causes of weight gain and the reason why certain people have trouble losing weight. These parasites hamper the digestive process, which may then cause unwanted weight gain. The presence of intestinal parasites in the human body is usually detected by looking for the following symptoms:

· Diarrhea · Nausea or vomiting · Gas or bloating · Dysentery (loose stools containing blood and mucus) · Rash or itching around the rectum or vulva · Stomach pain or tenderness · Feeling tired · Weight loss · Passing a worm in your stool

Intestinal parasites present in the body causes the lining of the intestines to become inflamed. Inflammation of the intestinal linings inhibit the consumption necessary vitamins, nutrients, and minerals that aid in the regulation of hormones, metabolism, and blood sugar levels. Parasites consume the food meant for the body and deprive the body of the nutrients and leave it with empty calories. This impels individuals to crave more food — which only leads to more weight gain.

In addition to inflammation, parasites in the body produce toxins and acids that destroy body tissues, corrupt the organs, and slowdown the function of the central nervous system. To remove these toxins and waste products, filtration organs like the kidney and liver work harder causing it to slowdown. Delay in these areas may cause individuals to feel tired and sluggish and gain additional weight because of tampered metabolism.

The development of intestinal parasites can be avoided by having a healthy diet and proper hygiene. Frequent washing of hands, regular trimming of fingernails, and cleaning bathrooms and the kitchen thoroughly are some of the simple things that can be done to maintain a parasite-free body. Thorough cleaning and complete cooking of food– especially beef and pork, may help prevent the proliferation of parasitic worms.

Medical studies show that parasitic infections in the body occur when there is pH imbalance in the body or too much alkaline. Keeping the intestines slightly acidic by consuming two tablespoons of apple cider diluted in eight ounces of water may help prevent and treat this kind of contamination. Parasite cleansing in the body can lead to normal metabolism easier weight loss. In addition, to its cleansing effect, daily doses of this vinegar in water has been proven to control high blood pressure after weeks of use. Medical specialists advice individuals to try natural remedies before taking over the counter medicines. Preventing the development of intestinal parasites should be the goal every individuals. Complete cleansing of intestinal parasites in ones body may lead to normal metabolism and easier weight loss. Food cravings may decrease because more nutrients, minerals, and other necessary ingredients are absorbed by the body. In return, the important internal organs function properly. These factors are healthy to achieve one’s ideal weight. A parasite-free body can make health and fitness goals more attainable.

Parasites and Plaque – Reasons For Weight Loss and Fat Loss

by Chic Ngo

If you really want to lose weight and have tried many weight loss programs without success, you might have parasites living in your stomach, colon, small and large intestine, and plaque building up in your gut causing uncontrolled weight gain. For their survival they continue absorbing nutrition from your body. These parasites produce enhanced chemicals, triggering the false signals of hunger from your brain and increasing your appetite of unhealthy foods.

A. There are 2 types of parasites:

1. Worms

These parasites especially enjoy refined carbohydrates and sugar, which become lodged in the lower intestinal region as a result of increased consumption of carbohydrates and sugar that causes eating disorder and obesity.

2. Protozoa

These parasites are the simple cell structure of protozoa that facilitates infinite reproduction, and enables the organism to defeat the body’s defense and digestive system. This causes many types of diseases such as eating disorders, makes you easier to get sick, uncontrolled weight gain and obesity.

B. What is Plaque?

Plaque is the substance that the body produces to defend itself against toxins. When carbohydrates, aspirin, salt, unhealthy chemicals, or alcohol are absorbed by the body, the plaque is produced to envelop the toxins. It’s the body’s effort to isolate the toxic substances from the body’s lining and to try to help pass the waste. Even though it’s trying to protect itself, producing plaque actually gets in the way of regular digestion. This causes digestive system disorders, a result of eating disorder.

If these parasites are allow to live and breed by the millions . It will make you fatter and much, much sicker, so they can live longer by feeding on nutritions in your stomach, small and large intestines, and colon. They will eventually cause you to puff up, gain lots of weight, get sick more often, and take many, many years off your life.

C.The Necessary Steps:

How to eliminate the parasites and plague:

Bowel detoxification is particularly helpful for improving body conditions and controlling weight loss. It brushes the intestine clean and helps the liver to cleanse toxins rapidly, so you can get rid of all parasites and plaques in your stomach, intestines and colon, rejuvenating your body and making you feel great, get rid of any conditions, stay fit, look younger, lose weight, live longer and be more “vitalized” than ever before.

The Wonders of Green Tea

Chinese green tea for weight loss can really help you lose weight. Although it has been used for hundreds of years in the east, it is a relatively new phenomenon to use Chinese green tea for weight loss rather than just enjoying it in a Chinese restaurant as a tea or as a green tea ice cream for dessert. More than a few studies have been completed recently on the effects of Chinese green tea for weight loss.

Everywhere that we turn there seems to be another new type of diet that promises to help those of us who need green tea weight loss to do it faster and easier with less pain. Someone who is really looking to start a proper weight loss tea should also try to consume at least one liter of Chinese O Long or Wu Long tea in order to see some results.

Significant findings were made that pointed to the benefits of Chinese green tea in weight loss. According to the researchers of the University of Geneva, Chinese green tea has thermogenic properties which aid much in weight loss.

In their study, they investigated the weight loss benefits of Chinese green tea by observing the interaction between the caffeine in Chinese green tea and a compound called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). When these two substances in Chinese green tea react, thermogenesis of the body increases by four percent. The tendency of Chinese green tea to enhance metabolic rates has given people reason to believe that Chinese green tea has weight loss benefits as well.

These reasonable weight loss benefits along with the long valued health aspects of green tea extract have become so widely professed that major cold drink manufacturers have taken to recommending new products by referencing EGCG as a main ingredient.

Theweight loss benefits along with the long valued health aspects of green tea extract have become so widely validated that major cold drink manufacturers have taken to recommending new products by referencing EGCG as a main ingredient.
Chinese green tea has long been known to provide a number of health benefits. Although green tea is widely known to have various health benefits, some people still are still suspicious of the idea that adding green tea into their diets can improve their health at all. The Western world is just now catching on to what the Asians have known for 4,000 years, that one cup of green tea has an abundance of health benefits.

Researchers have done more studies on green tea to see what the benefits are, not only for weight loss, but also in regard to cholesterol levels, preventing cancer, as well as helping with the blood sugar levels for diabetics. It’s been shown in numerous studies to reduce levels of total cholesterol in the human body, and many of its health benefits may still be unknown.

It was also discovered that green tea can have an anti-inflammatory effects and may provide protection against cardiovascular diseases. One of the effects of drinking dieter’s tea is frequent bowel movement. Regular consumption of green tea shows no significant side effects. Green tea is the mostly preferred tea by the world population due to its numerous beneficial effects.

For most people, the Chinese green tea is a stuff of legends. Chinese green tea has been known to be very beneficial to human health.

I have included some references to some Green Tea related products that may of interest.

Getting Fit After 40 And Taking A Healthy Energy Drink

by Julieanne van Zyl

Simply put, cardiovascular fitness means the capacity of the body to give oxygen and blood flow to the muscular areas. “Can I enhance cardiovascular fitness over 40?” is the question some people ask. The answer is, “yes, you can.” Over 40 cardiovascular fitness can be achieved by, insistence, patience, dedication and tough work.

Although, it need not be real hard work because a healthy energy drink like Verve can help a lot. It will give you energy to make it easier to exercise and keep you healthy by improving your immune system and reducing any inflammation around joints that you may get from new exercise.

One must boost their physical activity enough to get their heart pumping and boost their respirations to obtain an enhanced cardiovascular system. This is not hard to do, but it is work, which many of us are not particularly keen on. This can be carried out through consistent efforts of exercise and a quality supplement like the Vemma mangosteen juice could assist you when your physical activity is increased.

Over the age of 40, people are taking more of an interest in their health. This could be out of fear, for health reasons, or the reason is they just want to look and feel better. Whatever the cause may be this is a very attainable expectation.

In their attempt to boost their cardiac fitness most individuals are also looking to decrease their weight as well. If this is the case, you will need to boost your cardio by exercising about 3 to 5 times a week for 20 to 40 minutes straight. You should begin slowly when first trying this, beginning with the least requirement of 3 times a week for 20 minutes. This should slowly be increased, as you are able to tolerate, working up to 5 times a week for 40 minutes at a time.

You really do not need to attempt any cardiovascular fitness exercises if you are trying to put on weight, which I believe is the rare case. However, it will not affect your weight if you do just a mild workout of 20 minutes time at 2xs per week.

If you are just wanting to maintain your weight and improve your cardio and you neither want to lose or gain weight, you can exercise for 20 to 40 minutes aboutthree times a week. This should be sufficient for this purpose.

For optimal cardiovascular fitness reasons heart rate has to be checked. For maximum weight loss you would want to aim for a goal and include a high-intensity workout in your plan.

In your cardio fitness workout you may include weight training for even more success, but this should not be attempted until proficient in the basic cardio fitness regime. When this becomes less difficult to you then you can advance on to weight training.

You should always ask your medical practitioner regarding any precautions or limitations that you should follow as with any exercise regime. Over 40 is not only highly possibly, but definitely an achievable goal in your health plan to enhance cardiovascular fitness.

End Emotional Eating

Emotional eating is a term used to describe the process of eating when you’re not really hungry. When you’re eating from emotions, you usually are drawn to sweet, fatty foods, or crunchy, salty ones. Emotional eating usually happens when you’re upset, angry,

sad, bored, lonely or depressed. If you think of it another way, emotional eating occurs anytime you eat due to a feeling, rather than true hunger.

Sweet, fatty goods are comforting- and it makes sense that you’d want to eat more of these when you are feeling sad, lonely or depressed. Crunchy, salty foods tend to be selected when you are feeling stress, because the act of chewing these actually reduces tension in your face and neck.

The problem with emotional eating is that most of us go through a range of feelings each day, and if we ate each time something upset us, or made us happy, we’d be eating most of the day- which is much too frequent, if you want to manage your weight. And this creates a vicious cycle, as you eat when you’re upset, and then you get anxious or depressed because you’re gaining weight, and, in this way, overeating is linked to anxiety and mood problems.

You can know if you’re an emotional eater by your initial reaction when you receive bad or upsetting news. If you automatically reach for cookies, candy, cake, or chips, you are likely to be an emotional overeater. This is not the only choice, of course, as you could reach out for social support (such as calling a friend- zero calories) or you could go for a walk (which would burn calories, and could help you feel better faster, because exercise reduces stress, and can release endorphins.) Exercise is one of the best and most effective ways to manage your negative feelings.

Emotional eating can also occur at certain times in the day, such as in the mid-afternoon, where your energy starts to lag and you feel tired. It’s advisable to eat snacks during the day, in order to keep your energy high, but be careful of immediately reaching for “bad for you” foods when you’re already feeling badly.

It will be harder to feel good when your body feels overfull or bloated from too much food. Find other ways to deal with your negative feelings, rather than eating. Write a letter, go for a walk- do anything you can think of to distract yourself. Select activities with no calories.

If you must eat, choose healthier foods. Crunchy foods like celery or carrot sticks will work, and you can feed your sweet tooth with low sugar options.

The better you can cope with your negative feelings, the less likely you will need to eat. And that, truly, is the only way to stop emotional eating. If you want to manage your weight for the long term, you need to reduce emotional overeating to create a mindset for weight loss success.

Chinese Green Tea for Weight Loss

For most people, the Chinese green tea is a stuff of legends. Chinese green tea has been known to be very beneficial to human health. For thousands of years, Chinese green tea has been talked about and written about because of its countless positive effects.

According to legend, the first person to ever taste Chinese green tea was the Emperor Shen Nung in 2737 B.C. It was said that while boiling some water for drinking, some leaves fell into his pot from a tree nearby. Chinese green tea leaves when boiled smelled and tasted so wonderful that Shen Nung even urged his people to drink it. The fame of the Chinese green tea did not stay at one place for long. It is believed that in A.D. 800, Chinese green tea was brought to Japan by monks who studied Buddhism in China.

What makes Chinese green tea different from all other teas?

Chinese green tea is produced from Camellia sinensis, the same plant where the oolong and black tea are derived. Yet, even though they all come from the same herb, the Chinese green tea truly stands out as an exceptional health drink. So what makes Chinese green tea different?

The difference lies in the method by which Chinese green tea is produced. Oolong and black tea leaves are traditionally oxidized and then dried while the Chinese green tea leaves are steamed and then dried. This method of producing Chinese green tea actually preserves most of the beneficial antioxidants present in it.

Chinese Green Tea for Health
