post Best Medical Alert Systems for Elderly

I am going to try to figure out a good way to make sure that my mother is safe in her house, because she refuses to move to somewhere where she would be safer, such as a retirement community, and instead, intends to continue to live alone for as long as possible, even if it ends up killing her. I want to read about the best medical alert system that is on the market today, because I am going to try to do my part to make sure that her insistence on living alone does not actually lead to her death.

Not that long ago, she took a nasty fall, and broke her kneecap. She was fortunate in that I was already on my way to her house to visit her, and I arrived probably 20 minutes after she fell. There is no way she would have been able to get to a phone to call for help, and she did not have her cell phone on her. If she would just keep her cell phone with her all of the time, then it would nto be such a big deal, but she often leaves it in all sorts of places, and that kind of defeats the purpose a bit. I bought her a cell phone in the first place, in order to help to keep her safe and make sure she had a way to make phone calls in the case of an emergency.

That is why I think that some sort of medical alert device is necessary in order to make sure that the proper people can be notified in the case of a medical event. I wish there was something that would automatically notify them, instead of relying on someone to be conscious and to press a button.
